Most importantly, these festivals have made India to believe in the concept, ”unity in diversity”. Holi

Holi, also called the festival of colors .It is a popular spring festival of India. It also celebrate in Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan & Sri Lanka. The most celebrated Holi is that of the Braj region, in locations connected to God Krishna : Mathura, vrindavan, Nandagoan and barsana. These place become tourist destinations during the festive season of Holi, which lasts up to sixteen days.

Ratha Yatra

Ratha Yatra is one of the grandest festivals of India. This festival celebrated every year at puri in Orissa during the months of june-july. The festival, commemorating the annual journey   of  lord Jagannath, has the unique distinction of symbolizing universal brotherhood and global peace and harmony.

Onam

Onam is the biggest festival of the south Indian state-Kerala. It falls during the month of august-september. It marks the homecoming of the legendry king Mahabali. Carnival of onam lasts for ten days and is linked to many elements of Kerala’s culture and tradition. Snake boat race and the kaikottikali dance are some of the most remarkable features of Onam. Womens wear mundu and a gold piece called Nariathu.

Diwali

Diwali or deepavali is the biggest festival of India. It celebrated across the country during October-November. Popularly known as the festival of lights. It also signifies the victory good over evil.
